Founders' Lecture: The future of the book

The novelist and critic Sarah Linwood asks what reading will look like in fifty years.

About the event

The Founders' Lecture has been given every October since 1872, in memory of the twelve teachers who opened Aldermere. This year's lecturer, the novelist and critic Sarah Linwood, will ask whether the printed book is a technology we have outgrown or one we have barely begun to understand.

The lecture is followed by questions from the audience and a reception in the Old Library, where the atlas returned to the college this summer will be on display.
