The Chapel Choir's Tallis recording reaches number one

Spem in alium, recorded in the College Chapel over three nights in March, has topped the classical chart in its first week.

Tallis wrote Spem in alium for forty independent voices, and the Chapel Choir - thirty choral scholars joined by ten alumni - recorded it standing in a circle beneath the chapel's vault, with the microphones in the middle.

The recording is available on all major streaming services. The choir sings Evensong in the chapel at 5.30pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in term; everyone is welcome.
